Sorry it's been so long since I have updated here. I barely have time to update my brain on a daily basis! I have decided to implement a
picasa slideshow so that I don't have to upload pictures every single time I want to share pics of my wild and crazy family! I can't get the pics to show up any bigger than that, but no worries, just click on the link and it will open a new window where you can then navigate through the pics at your own pace and check out our other albums as well!
Now on to more important news:
Joe was home last week for the last time before he leaves for Iraq. We were also able to visit with Sara for a few hours before they had to leave for North Dakota to visit her family.
Irelynn was excited to meet her Uncle Joe for the first time - she wouldn't take her eyes off of him - it was very sweet. It's hard to believe that the next time he sees her she might be crawling! It's also hard to believe that the next time he comes home I can have a beer with him legally! He will be stationed at Camp Victory in Baghdad and will be working in the dining facility most of the time. It has been very hard to control my emotions when thinking about him going over there (I am sure that my postpartum hormones aren't helping), but I am working on thinking happy thoughts and giving him the strength and support he needs to accomplish the tasks that he has been given.
Kylie and Ava were dedicated to their church last week. Aaron spoke beautifully about taking on the challenge of teaching their girls. With all of the family's love and support, we know that both Aaron and Katie will do a wonderful job raising their daughters!
Sherry came over for a week to help with the kids, which was much needed. It's been hard on all of us with her living in Jackson. Luckily, she is able to move around her work schedule so that she can have long weekends to spend with us! We laid low most of the week, but we were able to enjoy lunch at
Schuler's Cafe & its Restroom one of the afternoons!
Isaac was supposed to learn how to read this week (his idea), but we didn't get around to it. Maybe next week will be a little less crazy! He has been enjoying the beautiful weather that we have been having. He loves to be outside looking for pirate ships on the lake and jumping on the trampoline!
Irelynn is still having a hard time falling asleep before 2am, which makes life quite difficult. I think that we have tried just about everything possible (gas drops, formula, soothing bath, sling, baby
bjorn, bouncy seat, swing,
carseat, crying, nursing) to lull her to sleep before 2am, but she wakes up as soon as I lay her down. When she
is ready to sleep, she will sleep in her own bed for 6 hours at a time! She is also starting to smile a lot more now - it's heart-melting, even at 2am! She loves her
fishies on her bouncy seat and her swing. She can even look up at the mobile in the swing. I turned it on so that she could try to follow it as it went around and around, but it was a little much for her! She is also starting to make more noises which are really cute and sweet!
Rob & I have just been enjoying life with two children. Not much has changed, besides our sleeping schedule! Isaac & Rob have been going to the YMCA quite often. I can't wait until I can go do Yoga there. I hope that I enjoy their program. I have done some Baby OM, but took it too far and hurt my back. I should be able to start practicing regularly in the next couple of weeks, which is good because I still have 20lbs. to lose. My jeans are calling my name and I am ready to say goodbye to elastic waistbands! Rob will be working in
Manistee for the next couple of weeks, which means that I have to take on life with 2 on my own - talk about intimidating! We are going to miss him like crazy, although it may be just as hard on him!
